Blender add-on: Bookmarks

With the Blender Bookmarks add-on, you can bookmark the current viewport location and objects, so you can quickly return to them with a single click of the bookmark button.

The add-on can be useful for those who work with large, complex scenes with many objects.

Add-on functionality

To add a new bookmark, press the “+” button in the add-on panel.

View bookmarks

If there is no selected object in the 3D viewport, the bookmark is linked with the current location of the viewport – the view.

For quick access, bookmark buttons can be pinned to the 3D viewport area header by clicking the “Pin” button next to the desired bookmark. Additionally, you can enable or disable the displaying of text on the bookmark button by pressing the “a” button.

When you click the desired bookmark button, the viewport view will be returned to the position saved with the bookmark.

Object bookmarks

If there is one active selected object in the viewport, the bookmark is attached to this object.

Now, wherever this object is moved in the future, clicking on its bookmark button will move the viewport to this object.

The bookmark is anchored to the origin of the object.

For example, if you have many object instances in your scene, and one of them is saved globally aligned for further editing, you can bookmark it to quickly navigate to it at any time for editing.
